The #1 San Marcos, CA Plumber – Here Is Why
- We will show up on time. Our San Marcos plumbers are trained to work efficiently to not waste time on jobs; that way, they can move throughout their day quickly to get to all of our customers on time. If we are running late, we will call and text you to let you know. We will also give you a discount for the hassle.
- We have all of the proper tools to get your plumbing job done. Tools make a big difference in the quality of work. Using the wrong tools will lead to plumbing work being done as professionally as it could be. We provide some of the more significant tools to our plumbers, such as jackhammers and rotary hammers, and we encourage our plumbers to get the top of the line hand tools such as drills and screwdrivers.
- We fix your plumbing right the first time. We are not the cheapest plumber in San Diego; however, we can assure you that we do not cut corners, and we will do the job right the first time. We are so confident in our work that we will give you a written warranty, so in case our work fails, we will come back and fix it at no charge to you. Much of the plumbing work that we do is selecting other local plumbers from San Marcos screw-ups.
- We will clean up our mess from the plumbing work! You may not notice how excellent our plumbing is, but you will see whether we left a mess behind or not. We make sure to clean up any mess that we make, put any items back from the area that we worked on, and leave the area cleaner than we found it. Even if you need an emergency plumber at 2 a.m., we will still clean up our mess.
- Our plumbers are honest. Unfortunately, the plumbing industry is full of crooks and liars. It is easy to get lied to. The good news is that most plumbers out there are honest. However, we have heard horror stories of customers getting lied to, shown pictures of faulty plumbing that was not their own and other such things. We are not the cheapest plumber out there, but at least we won’t lie to you!
Just had Billy clear out a stopped up shower drain. I got a 1-5 p.m. time window from dispatch, and he showed up promptly at 1:30 and was done before 2. Explained the billing policy thoroughly to me so as to avoid misunderstanding. I appreciate that very much. He did a couple diagnostics to verify the situation was as described, and got working. Had it cleared and cleaned just as fast. They also offered me some other services but was not pushy and got into the pros and cons of the decision just enough. Nastiness was cleaned up and discarded by Billy, so I appreciate that VERY much. Thanks Billy. Calling Colepepper plumbing again should we need work done.

How We Solved One Customers High Plumbing Water Bill In San Marcos, CA
A customer had called us to her home because her water bill had been almost triple what it usually would be, going on for three months now. She had reached a local plumber who came to her house and did not find any leaks. She had heard good things about Colepepper from a co-worker and decided to give us a call.
Our San Marcos Plumber came to her house and, too, found no leaks. However, we did check the water pressure, something the other plumber did not do.
We found the house water pressure to be at 145 psi, almost twice the legal limit allowed by the plumbing code.
High water pressure is terrible for two reasons. First, it wastes a lot of water. As you can imagine, the faster the water comes out of a faucet tap, the more water is used. The more water used, the higher the water bill there will be. Second, high water pressure is very hard on the plumbing system. The plumbing code says that the maximum the water pressure should be is 80 psi. We like to see it at about 55-60 psi.
We changed the faulty pressure regulator, set the new pressure to 55-60 psi, and told the customer to let us know once they receive their next water bill if the cost went down.
The customer called us back a month later and let us know that the bill did go back to normal. We reminded them that lowering the water pressure will also help all of their plumbing last longer because the high water pressure wears out the seals on the plumbing much faster.
If you have a high water bill, the first thing you should check is your water pressure. You can call us out to check it (free of charge), or you can pick up a water pressure gauge at Home Depot, Lowes, a plumbing supply house, or Ace Hardware. Screw the gauge onto an outside faucet to check the pressure. The pressure regulator has a maximum setting of 75 psi, so if you get a reading above that, then that tells you the pressure regulator has failed.
Give us a call, and we can come swap it out for you.
A Message From Our President – Mitch Kenney
I’m a 3rd generation plumber. I wanted to avoid getting into plumbing and following my Dad and Grandpa, but it bet going to college at the time! Over the years, I have grown to love the plumbing industry.
I have a wife and three kids who i spend most of my free time with.
We like to do a lot of outdoor activities in our free time, like skiing, surfing, fly fishing, golfing, etc.
I was born and raised in Colorado, so I am a diehard Colorado/Denver sports fan (please don’t hate me).
I stick to plumbing. It is what I am good at.
I have tried to fix things around my house. Plumbing is the only thing I am good at. So, if it is not plumbing-related, I hire it out.
I’ve had my share of bad contractors and service over the years.
I know what getting taken advantage of and lied to is like. Contractors have cursed at me and left messes.
They showed up late.
They did not do the work they were hired to do,
They got it wrong time after time, and so on.
And it is not fun!
We teach our plumbers the technical side of plumbing
We also teach them the people and customer service side of the business. We could do the best plumbing job in the world, but I’m sure you wouldn’t be happy if we left a mess behind and were late.
I know there are a lot of plumbing businesses in Carlsbad you can choose from, so I encourage you to give us a shot.
We will provide the best customer service.
We will clean up our mess, treat you respectfully and courteously, and be honest. And if there is a rare time when we drop the ball, we will own up to it immediately.
